I got up about 8. I
had coffee and muesli for breakfast and then we went to Observation to see the
sail in to Kristiansund. It had rained
during the night but not as cold as we had anticipated. The clouds keep coming and going though. The captain was able to dock in downtown
Kristiansund. As soon as we docked we
got off and walked through the small town.
We walked along the wharf to a ship yard. There was an old shipbuilding museum there
but it was closed.

We went back to the ship and had lunch and then met our tour
group at 1:15 for the Ocean Road drive. It
was a scenic 20 mile drive from island to island. Beautiful vistas, fjords, green fields,
pastures, majestic mountains and a few herds of animals. We made a stop at one of the large “twisted”
bridges and took a hike around a small island on a metal walkway. There were beautiful strata in the rocks and
pretty flowers and gorgeous fern.

We then went to a shop and got on a replica of a Viking ship
and went to Haholmen Island. We had
coffee and a chocolate cake. We walked
around a bit and then saw a movie about the ocean crossing of the small Viking
ships. Interesting and amazing that the
Vikings sailed so far in such small ships.

We got on the bus and headed back to the Voyager. We dressed for dinner and met Judith and
Allan for drinks in Observation. We had
a good dinner with them in Compass Rose and enjoyed their company. We were one of the last 3 tables to finish
dinner. It was about 10:15 and we
retired for the night so we can get up early and see the sail in to Geiranger
in the fjord.
