Monday June 29, 2015 - St. Petersburg, Russia

We had an early morning today.  We are off to Peterhof which is an hour’s drive through heavy traffic.  At least it is a beautiful day.

We enjoyed our visit to the “Summer Palace”.  Lots of tourists especially Chinese which our guide did not like.

We couldn’t take any pictures inside.   But she gave us an informative tour of the Peterhof Palace and then we went to the gardens about 10:45 am and got a place at the wall.  The fountains are turned on at 11 am.  There is gold everywhere and the fountains are lovely.

We walked to the orangerie, the grotto, and other gardens where we had not visited previously.  We then returned to the bus but 2 women got lost and we had to wait for them.  It took another hour to get back to the ship.

We went to lunch at the grill on the pool deck and ate with Linda and Chris from Durham.  He worked in the George McGovern campaign in 1972.  We met them on Voyager last year.

We took a well-deserved nap and did some reading.  Tim exercised.

We went to Observation for drinks.  We changed our reservation to 7 pm so we can go to the show.  We had a sharing table with Jim, Mary, and their granddaughter Heather from just outside of DC.  Delicious dinner in Prime 7.  Fun conversation and very enjoyable people.  They are on the next cruise with us as well so we’ll see much more of them.

We went to the show and hooted and hollered for the dancers – especially Gemma and Alex.  It was the same show we had seen before on Voyager last year but still enjoyable.  The dancers and singers are very good again.

We had an after dinner drink and then went to bed.
