I woke up at 3 am again as the sun was coming back
up!!!! I did some email, read, and then went
back to sleep at 4:30. We got up at 6:45
so we could shower early as the water is supposed to be turned off at 8 for a
public works project. We showered,
dressed and packed. Tim finished the
meringue for the second key lime pie.
Maximillian threatened Christian that he was going to eat the new one.
I had a list of the 10 best experiences in Oslo: Holmenkollen ski jump, Frognersetern,
Grunerlokka, The Opera House, A cruise on the Oslo fjord, The Bygdoy museums,
the Astrup Fernley Museum, Vigeland Park, the Nobel Peace Center, and “eat,
drink and live”. We did them all!!!!
Dag Arne fixed breakfast again – good – brown cheese and
eggs, ham, and bread with jam.
Coffee. Dag Arne went for an
interview. Christian called us a cab for
a fixed price with Oslo Taxi to the airport.
It was only 389 kronar and took about 35 minutes mostly on highway. Check in was easy but we had to pay for
checking our extra bags since we are on a domestic flight and not economy plus
which they don’t have. That was
expensive.
We went through security and waited for boarding. We left Oslo at 11:50 am and arrived in
Stockholm about 1 pm. We got our bags and then secured a taxi with a
fixed price to take us to the Radisson Blu Waterfront Hotel. The hotel was right outside the Central
Station!
We got registered and into our room early. So we walked down the pedestrian street. We stopped at a restaurant and I had Swedish
meatballs and Tim had a pizza and wine.
It was good but a large lunch.

We walked to the Palace and Gamla Stan and walked around. We found the restaurant Fem Sma Hus and made
a reservation for tonight.
We walked back to the hotel and took a well-deserved nap.
We dressed for dinner and got a taxi to the restaurant. We had kir royale in the bar upstairs and
then went downstairs to the dining room.
We were seated next to a couple from San Jose and enjoyed talking to
them. They were cat people!
Tim had the menu with reindeer and arctic char, and I had
the menu with salmon and veal filet.
Delicious. We enjoyed a dessert
and coffee and then walked back to the hotel.
It was still very light outside.
We went to bed about 11 and slept until 8. The light during the night is incredible but
I put the blackout shades over the windows which helped.
