Saturday July 11, 2015 - At Sea

We slept late again since we are at sea yet again headed north.  We attended the Enrichment Lecture at 9:45 and it was very educational.

We went to the Indian buffet on the pool deck for lunch.  We ate outside but it was too cold.  We need to be careful!!!!  (Oh, how I wish we had heeded that premonition!)

We went to the afternoon Enrichment Lecture and that was followed by a nap, reading, and Tim’s workout in the gym.

We went to Ray Solaire’s show at 6.  It was the same one he did before with the puppets.  He is an experienced, seasoned cruise director and a good performer.  He’s about my age I think, and I can’t imagine doing what he does – lots of energy.

We went to Observation for dinner with Chris and Linda and we had a bottle of Veuve Cliquot that Chris brought from his cabin.  They are Platinum members so that was one of their gifts.  We enjoyed that and then went to Prime 7 for dinner.  It was a really fun evening and dinner was great.

We went to Observation for a nightcap.  The sun doesn’t set where we are this time of year.  It stays light for 2 months straight, but it is cold – between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius or 30-50 Fahrenheit.

Midnight on our balcony and the sun is still out!

We went to bed about 11.  We plan to get up early tomorrow to see the sail in to Longyearbyen on Spitsbergen Island.  This is on Svalbard which is considered by many to be another “country” in counting countries visited since it is geographically separate.  But it is a Norwegian territory.
